It might also be worth pointing out that there are loads of used copies at bargain prices (Don't buy em from Amazon though, http://www.plover.com/~mjd/amazon.html). I got my first Camel book at a used bookstore (and sold it back to them when i upgraded editions). I feel that perl is such a cool language that I'm willing to hook up a broke newbie. I'll contribute $5 (hey, its what I can afford) to getting Stephen a copy of the Camel book (if you're really that broke, or unscrupulous enough to pretend to be so). I'd send you my Camel, but I use it too often. Other ways of getting info: You can learn from the authors by looking them up and reading their articles and list posts. Try typing 'Randal Schwartz' into google. If you want to "try before you buy" there are sample chapters for many of these books on the publisher or author websites as well. I read chapter 3 (Test Now, Test Forever) of Perl Medic by Peter Scott at: http://www.awprofessional.com/articles/article.asp?p=170799 and bought a copy of the book the very next day. Many users groups also get free copies of books for review. my $two_cents; --Christopher Maujean -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <http://learn.perl.org/> <http://learn.perl.org/first-response>
