Hi Marish,

You haven't said which platform it's for.

For unix you have two choices.  If you want to do a source install try 
http://www.perl.org

>From the home page there's a link to a download page.  You want to download 
the current stable release which I think is 5.8.1.

If you need help installing, then help here.

Most Linux distributions come with perl pre-installed, so the simplest way is 
to get the approptiate packages  (e.g. .rpm) and install those.  These are 
available from your distribution's web site, but may not be the latest 
version.  For example the latest perl for RH7.3 (which I still use cos it 
works and is stable) is 5.6.1

If you're running windows your best bet is to download Active Perl from the 
Active State website. http://www.activestate.com/
