Ahhh, you're right.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but the arrays expand out,
so although (a -> 'apple') is a hash and (b => 'tree') is a hash, it
actually contains the hash:

(
  a => 'apple',
  b => 'tree',
  c => 'chair',
)

Correct?
