Problem sorted :) I am assuming my installation of perl has been corrupted at some point - I uninstalled & re-installed, tried installing the package with ppm3 again and all was well.

I am running ActiveState Perl 5,8,1,807 on Win XP. I have attempted to install using the ppm3 tool, however this is unable to find the package in any of the installed repositories (2 at ActiveState, 1 at uwinnipeg.ca & 1 at roth.net) I have also attempted manual instalation by downloading String-CRC32-1.2.tar.gz . Follwoing the README perl Makefile.PL runs fine, but running make returns error makefile:340: *** multiple target patterns. Stop. I have tried using Cygwin's & WinGW's make as wel as MS nmake (as packaged with MS VC++ 6) - they all return the same error. I'd be really grateful if anyone could offer a bit of advice on how to resolve my problem. Cheers, Andy. PS Peculiar thing is I am sure I had previously installed this package using ppm3 without hassles some months back (same ver of ActivePerl), but following a rebuild of PC I'm snookered :( -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <http://learn.perl.org/> <http://learn.perl.org/first-response>
