I'm just going by memory here, because I too have upgraded to Fedora and
can't go back and check RH9, but isn't the perl on RH9 version 5.8.0, not
5.8.1?  What happens if you do:
find /usr/lib -name Underground.pm -print

I'm just wondering if the script isn't going back to search prior versions,
and does your @INC show the prior version (perl -V).
