Hello everyone, I saw the discussion on Archive::Zip and wondered if anyone could help me out. I have a zip file that seems to be corrupted and I'm trying to get the data out of it. It's a 2GB file. I tried to run the extract.pl from Archive::Zip and it fails with the error below. I've tried unsuccessfully with all the zip utilities and with everything I can find on Freshmeat.net and nothing works. I'm willing to accept that the data is gone, but would like to exhaust all possibilities before throwing in the towel.
format error: can't find EOCD signature Archive::Zip::Archive::_findEndOfCentralDirectory('Archive::Zip::Archive=HASH(0x80fbbf0)', 'IO::File=GLOB(0x82f3c88)') called at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/Archive/Zip.pm line 923 Archive::Zip::Archive::readFromFileHandle('Archive::Zip::Archive=HASH(0x80fbbf0)', 'IO::File=GLOB(0x82f3c88)', '/home/kdo/zimoNmjc') called at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/Archive/Zip.pm line 904 Archive::Zip::Archive::read('Archive::Zip::Archive=HASH(0x80fbbf0)', '/home/kdo/zimoNmjc') called at extract.pl line 30 Read of /home/kdo/zimoNmjc failed While I'm still off topic and speaking of data recovery, has anyone every recovered data from a ext3 filesystem after all utilities have been tried to repair them? I've tried all the utilities off of freshmeat.net and nothing works. I've got bad blocks and i-nodes. Any suggestions are welcome and you can email me off list.
