CPAN problem

Running Perl 5.8.0 on Mac OS 10.1.5, when I try to connect the CPAN, the 
first time I enter a command I get the following errors. Any suggestions?

dyld:: Too many arguments.

_Perl_safemalloc
_Perl_saferealloc
_Perl_sv_2pv
_perl_call_sv
_perl_eval_sv
