Hi folks,
I just wanted to say thanks to the various people who sent in sample code
for using GetOpt: Beau Cox, Japhy Pinyan, John Krahn, and others whose
names I'm not remembering -- my appy-polly-loggys to them (that's a
_Clockwork
Orange_ reference, it's one of my favorite novels). I realized with
shock today
that it's been almost a month since your helpful responses -- ouch! It's
easy
to lose track of time when you're trying to program AND have a life.
Anyway, thanks. It was particularly helpful to get several different coding
points of view.
Since many of you had fun tweaking me about my after-work-traffic-woes,
and blithely said things like, "I just hop on my bike and avoid all
that," I have
to mention that though I am a long-term cyclist (aren't all
programmers?) it's
not possible for me to cycle to work, for a number of reasons. But I am
learning to ride a motorcyle! (Very carefully) And I have one at my
disposal,
so pretty soon I hope to be splitting lanes and chortling about living in
Sunny Southern Cal.
