problems with variables

hallo All,

My problem, i will explain in terms of an example:

I have variable $e-mail the value of the var is an e-mail address, now I would like to to store the value of the variable under another name for example email_id001 or email_id$i, where $i is just a interger.

The problem may seem simple to many of u, but i do not have much experience in perl and would be rather grateful for ur help.
