If you wanted to do less typing, you could use:

my ($sec,$min,$hour,$day,$month,$year)=localtime();
$year+=1900;

print "Time => $hour:$min:$sec\n";
print "Date => $day/$month/$year\n";

or even just:

print scalar localtime(),"\n";
