Strange.
Maybe it is a setup issue. I tried
get MIME::Lite
and it worked fine.
Maybe you should try a different mirror.
I am using
cpan> o conf urllist
ftp://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/MIRRORS/ftp.funet.fi/pub/languages/perl/CPAN
/
ftp://ftp.fi.muni.cz/pub/perl/
ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/CPAN/
ftp://sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk/packages/CPAN/
but I don't think you'll want to use those ;-)
