this is one of those things that we all run into and
tend to space out when doing 'upgrades' to the OS, et al,
since most of us 'forget' how much code we have installed
and built that is tied to which release of the OS...

myFascistHouseMate just blitzed my copy of perl4.035
which was built for SunOS 4.X on a cpu architecture
that we no longer have around...

I mean some of us are not as convinced that perl5
is a "stable" platform... and we might need to
roll back to a previous release...
