To follow up on your question back to Shishir, you can specify when perl
is configured where to look for modules.  The various paths are sitelib
(added modules for the whole site in general), vendorlib (modules that
vendors install with their software), and privlib (where perl installs
its own modules at install time), and you can also specify more paths to
search.  Grab the source, unwrap it all, and run ./Configure to watch it
ask you questions and see what your choices might be.
