Nope. (That is, assuming that by "java" you mean "javascript"). Perl is server-side, JavaScript is client-side. I thought I recalled hearing something about "PerlScript" (client-side Perl), but I don't know of any browsers that have support for such a thing, and I don't even know if the project is still live (or if it ever existed.
