Hi all! i had a lot of feetback on my last post with really good stuff (I used for other purposes - please don't mind :), but there is still the one question: clear the string! - how?
the most solutions worked only for one digit in the end or tryed to filter the first pattern after the [:space:]... ....then let me pick together every kind of expresions there could be: (the "x" and "y" means variables) ..iso.3.6.1.4.1.318.x.x.x.x.x.x.0 = y ..iso.3.6.1.4.1.318.x.x.x.x.x.x.0 = "YYYYYY YYY YYYY" ..iso.3.6.1.4.1.318.x.x.x.x.x.x.0 = "YYY" hex:YY YY YY ..iso.3.6.1.4.1.318.x.x.x.x.x.x.0 = Timeticks: (y) yy:yy:yy.yy ..iso.3.6.1.4.1.318.x.x.x.x.x.0 = y (shorter OID's like that are possible!!!) - You see? I need only the "Y's"! For BurnShell I got the solution, but I would relly do all this in perl! I know it's tricky! I don't need the hole pice of the puzzle - only enough to crack this nut :) Thanks in forward Michael G.
