Hi Nafiseh, Based on this document http://techdocs.postgresql.org/techdocs/updatingcolumns.php, this feature has not been implemented yet in postgres. I think you can dump this column to a file, or a dummy table, and drop it. Then, you can add it again with the correct type and load your data.
