I'm a Linux user but not a great expert on problem solving, however the
place I turn to when I have problems like this is my local Linux User
Group forum.
There are something like 50 LUGs in the UK (where I live) and many more
than that worldwide. Try taking a look at:
http://www.linux.org/groups/
It's not a complete list but it's not a bad place to start, failing that
just try a Google search for "nearest_major_city Linux User Group"
Most LUGs have mailing lists or web forums and are happy to deal with
problem solving, but if you are dealing with a local LUG and all else
fails you can usually take a machine along to a local meeting and get some
hands on support.
