you can use this script instead of open file...
it help you for open once ,work on it and when you want
close it...
it help you to write less script.

use Fcntl qw(:flock);

open(FILE, "/salary");

flock(NUM, LOCK_EX);

  seek(NUM, 0, 0);

  close(NUM);
