I'm looking for some ideas on how to do a "near match" or "fuzzy logic" pattern match. Something that will say, for example, that two strings 80% match. I was thinking that spell checkers and search engines use this kind of thing all the time. Do they have a really repetative match (or a really complex one) or is there some trick? Any pointers are appreciated.
