Mornin' --

When I was a hiring manager, I looked for the kind of code an Applicant was
familiar with, not what Certs they had swatted for. The best programmer I
ever met was carrying an degree in English Literature. She could keep all
the logic threads in her head as she ran down some of the most obscure
bugs....

Then there was my Antenna Design Seminar in Grad School, taught by a
gentleman who had dropped out of MIT because it wasn't challenging. The
highest degree he held was a General Equivalency (home schooled) that the
took and passed when he was 12. He picked up a slew of Honorary PhD's
later on..

Certificates mean that you can pass a certification test, not solve real
world programs in real time.
