Well yes, I understand that there are two different kinds of 'if' one of
which is kinda broken (but nonetheless quite useful), and that doesn't
prevent me from thinking that an 'if' should always work as an 'if' :)
please stop saying if modifier is broken or confusing. millions of perl
coders use it every day with no issues. i would suggest you change your
view about this as i know the perl community isn't going to change if
modifier. it works just fine, it is consistant, it is logical, it is
simple and it looks and reads well.
