Ok folks, this thread is now closed. There will be no more posts on this thread
to this list. Not only is it heated, but it is off topic.

People must realize a few things. First, sometimes people post OT posts to
lists. Why? I'm not always sure. However, the beginners list is "chartered", if
you will, to be a place of tolerance and friendliness. So, when these posts
come by, and they will, be nice. Think before you respond, and certainly think
twice before responding to the whole list. Remember, there are a few thousand
folks reading this, as well as this being archived, so everyone sees what you
write.

Secondly, this list is not a place for flaming others. One person does, then
suddenly everyone has to give their $.02 in. Next thing you know is this list
loses its value because it becomes Yet Another volitile community. If you feel
you absolutely *must* give your $.02 to someone, do it in private.

Thirdly, please try to use other resources to answer your questions before
posting a question to the list. This is in the FAQ, everyone should read it (at
least once) before posting. This list is not a search engine, homework answer
desk, or somewhere to get people to read the abundant documentation for you.
Resources to look at are also pointed to in the FAQ, and the Perl docs should
be installed on your machine. Many times it is more fruitful to search for an
answer, rather than have it given to you. You may learn many things in the
process.

Fourth, if you are still reading this, thanks :) Just be nice to eachother.
Gentle guidance goes much further than hostility.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Cheers,
Kevin
