We give you all of the ones needed for the exercises in the text, and
provide a footnote to tell you how to find the rest (something about
"perldoc -f printf", if I recall). Are you looking for ones you *won't*
need for the exercises?

Are you skipping around in the book?
Oh. You didn't say if you're using second edition or third edition of
the Learning Perl book. If you're starting with second edition, I
recommend setting it aside and borrowing or buying a third edition.
Much clearer exercises and text.
