I am using a hash to iterate over and when I get a hit, I delete the
key:
HashStart: 148/256 #<- start of processing
Pass 1 130 74/256
Pass 2 41 39/256
Pass 3 23 17/256
Pass 4 11 7/256
Pass 5 7 0 # hash is cleared
I don't believe you as an individual have any control over what is
allocated. This is handled by Perl.
Wags ;)

Can you give an example of how they could be different?
