You might try Damian Conway's Text::Autoformat.

After searching on cpan, i found

I am trying to install Text::Wrap on my machine, however I am not finding
a module that I can download to do it. I am running perl 5.6.0 and would
rather not upgrade to 5.6.1 or 5.7.x
The only module I see that suits my tab is
http://search.cpan.org/search?dist=Text-Tabs+Wrap
but i get an error saying that the package is no longer available. Is
there another package available for my platform that i am missing?
