Hello all,
I was wondering what development environment you use? I am stuck in a
rut using KWrite and then uploading with an FTP program. I find that
I use the FTP app as a launch tool and I can edit or upload the files
from it. Probably the biggest problem is moving back and forth
between the cgi-bin and html folders.
Can anyone recommend one of the other linux development toolsets?
Should I be using Kate or KDevelop?
There are a few Perl/Python/Ruby IDEs worth considering:
* Bluefish is a GTK web development tool
* Komodo is a full Perl/Python/Ruby IDE (based on Mozilla).
Komodo is a commercial product, but has an open source branch (Komodo
edit). I like Komodo (as far as IDEs go), but I'm biased as the company
is local, and I know several developers who have worked on it.
The tools I use? Linux/Unix: gvim/bash/svn/rsync. On Windows: the "E"
text editor (a Textmate clone) and Cygwin/bash/svn/rsync. On Mac:
Textmate and bash/rsync/svn.
