Sara, You can use ImageMagick and the Perl API on this PerlMagick.
With this you'll have the 2 following possibilities: - resize automatically the picture for the user - detect the picture sizes and warn your user Any further information can be found @ http://www.imagemagick.org/script/perl-magick.php Personally I used 2 years ago the first possibility.
