I just spent about 5-6 hours going through some of the unix mans for perl. I'm trying to get a better grasp on perl/cgi because right now a lot of it still confuses me even after reading a whole book about it. I think I'm mostly confused because there are so many ways to do things and then one wrong step that is hardly noticable can throw everything outta wack!
So I was trying to get more of a grasp on perl....boy was that a mistake... I now believe that those perl unix manuals are written for two purposes. one: to put you to sleep even after having a full night sleep and two: to scare you away from programing forever! LOL I stopped looking at it about 45 minutes ago but i'm still dazed and my mind is numb! Those manuals are horrible they bounce from one topic to another with no direction and they expect you to know c and unix and a million other things when they are inroducing "simple" topics. I'm just glad that I am on this mailing list I think i'll just keep browsing the mail and eventually get a good understanding of how to program well. From humans, I don't know what robots wrote those manuls. LOL William move your heead! Look at the size of that boys heeead! It's like an orange on a toothpeck!
