© 2001 by Merriam-Webster, Incorporated Main Entry: jack·ass Pronunciation: 'jak-"as Function: noun Date: 1727 1 : DONKEY; especially : a male donkey 2 : a stupid person : FOOL 3 : smart enough to subscribe yet too dumb to unsubscribe [from a perl mailing list] Inspirational Michael is considered here a "jackass" because he was able to subscribe to the beginners-cgi list but cannot figure out how to unsubscribe. It doesn't take a whole heck of a lot of intellect to read the unsubscribe instructions [HINT: send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and actually read the email that comes back. doh!!!]. I do not think the use of the word "jackass" is particularly polite on a professional list like this even though it probably does accurately describe the above mentioned provocateur. With the powers invested in me by forces beyond our comprehension, I hereby declare this thread and all other similar threads officially dead. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
