Hello All, Is there some way (without using cron) that the update of a file can trigger a Perl (CGI) script to run? Specifically, I would like to update a text (flat file) database every time an addition/deletion is made to a password file. I know that I could run a cron job that compares the files for changes, but don't want to run cron every two minutes - and use up resources needlessly - nor run it only a couple times a day and perhaps compromise data integrity. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
