Dear Freebsdug

the information you've provided is too inadequate to shed proper lights on the
problem. At first site it appears to be a HDD or file system issue. To
understand more of your problem, a few more information is required,

1. what is your FreeBSD version (do a uname -r at the command prompt, that
should give you the answer)

2. What are the preceeding lines of the error message? In most of the cases, the
preeceding lines are self explanatory (i.e., they tell you which partition /
mount point is responsible).

3. Whether you have *upgraded* from any major version to another, i.e., was it
an upgrade from 4 to 5 or 5 to 6.

Considering you are affected by item 2, the best way to do is to fsck that
particular mount point a couple of times before you REBOOT to multi-user mode.
Had I been in your situation, I would have used the following command

fsck -F -y </mountPoint>

That way, you'll get to see what's being fixed and what not, and FreeBSD will
tell you whether things are back to normal or not

Please note THERE IS A CHANCE THAT SOME DATA MIGHT BE LOST DUE TO INODE
CORRECTION. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED :D

after you are done with fsck, do a clean reboot -- DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO
TO MULTI-USER MODE DIRECTLY. from the command prompt, run reboot, and that
should fix the problem.

But in all cases, please make sure that you understand and identify the problem
from the preceeding lines. FreeBSD is very generous, and like any generous OS,
it is also very cruel at times :P

Last question, when was the last time that you rebuilt your world?

happy linuxing.
