i love Slackware, but after i ran Knoppix i am for DEBIAN. trying to get the
full cd version, almost got it.
you know what i didn't like 'bout ubuntu:
1. i use KDE, and Kubuntu misses many fine apps of KDE
2. ubuntu with gnome is slow and it don't care whether you already have a nice
boot loader like lilo, so it writes GRUB in my master boot record (which is a
dangerous thing to do), and what more it also out a line in grub config for
windows partition "make active". everytime i boot in windows the fat32
partition becomes active and there is no boot loader. i have to put in my
knoppix cd again and fix it with fdisk.
3. ubuntu cannot use the benefit of already created swap file (or i could not
do it)
4. ubuntu is slow
I tried Mandrake, Redhat, Suse, Slackware and Knoppix. and i think KNOPPIX is
the best. then i try to find why its the best, and found that because it is
DEBIAN.
so my list of preference:
1 Knoppix or Debian
2 Slackware
i am waiting on my toe for the full version of knoppix.

After trying 5 distro "Fedora Core 4" "Mendriva Limited Edition 2005"
"Suse 9.2" "Debian 3.0" and "Ubuntu 5.04", I found it's the best distro
for the beginners. Now you may say no Linux is good as Unix. But my
friend it's a Linux group. ;)
