Reviews
Yochanan
Frank Herbert’s Dune (2000, Sci-Fi, DVD) His brother recommends it as the best
version. 3 90-min-long episodes. The FX haven’t held up. Costumes are
beautiful. Recommends it for thoroughness. B-

Doctor Who: Joy to the World (Disney+) This year’s Christmas special. Frenetic,
funny and moving. Nicely done. Nailed the landing. Top 3 Christmas specials.

Rick: Had a very Steven Moffat-y plot. Amiable and cheery on the whole.
The Meshuganutcracker (filmed version, 3 Below) Really good. Several BASFAns
were in attendance. Chanukah musical, set to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
Loved it! imdb.com/title/tt7714070/ <http://imdb.com/title/tt7714070/>

Silo (AppleTV+) Based on Hugh Howie’s self-published novels. In it’s second
season, better than the first. 10 episodes. The author has creative control,
but not slavishly the same as the novels. An ensemble cast. Has a
claustrophobic conspiracy feel. Rip roaring!

Chanukah eve party at Rick & Deirdre’s. Nibbles were great. Watched the series
Hawkeye, which was exciting and funny.

Kenita: Enjoyed the program.
Gearld: Hawkeye was pretty good. Six episodes, not strung out.
Rumor of the Week:
Farewell to a truly great president.
