It's an otherwise entertaining series, but don't expect the plot to make sense Yochanan reviewed a copy of Astounding Stories from Oct 1936 as an interesting and very different read, a real blast from the past. He enjoyed it, but found some of the writing used odd word choice, but is glad he picked it up and Yochanan reviewed a Dutch movie he saw on Netflix, 'Captain Nova' - as seen with subtitles - and not a great movie, but it had a good heart see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Nova and Yochanan reviewed a book - 'Wannabes' by Dave Rudden, a Doctor Who Story that he found really fun to read & it's enough to make him want to look for others in the 'Decades' series see = https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/123215017-doctor-who Ken reviewed 'Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice' as a really good ride, with a lot of action taking place in the afterlife & he definitely recommends it as worth full price. Yochanan followed on that he liked it - but didn't love it - thinking it was a good movie, but a little long & not worth re-watching Cliff spoke about the 'Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction' which had been on hiatus but is back as a quarterly. He received a copy of the summer 2024 issue & has been reading it & is glad that it has returned check = https://www.fandsf.com/ Cliff also reviewed 'HomeLand' by RA Salvatore, a Dungeons & Dragons book, as the origin story for Drizzt Do'urden [although the 3rd Drizzt book published]. He enjoyed reading the book and found the setting well-imagined Diane reviewed 'Murenga' by Nyasha Mugavazi as a graphic novel that was funded on Kickstarter, with excellent art and an amazing plotline and the rumor of the week was = 'Better than Beetlejuice, BASFA' we adjourned at = 8:51pm there were auctions -- ******************* She/whispered/'Oh/my/goodness/what/are/all/these/squirrels/doing/here?' melc...@gmail.com *******************
