What you do is just recreating an empty new volume with just the same name. As it is empty you won't get the files records in your previous volume. You can of course restore your catalog to the previous state, because you have a dump of it right ?
You might try to reimport the missing volume with bscan Please read carefully the following chapter in the documentation https://docs.bareos.org/Appendix/BareosPrograms.html#bscan Beware bscan is not the magical silver bullet, it might miss some information, especially in always incremental schema.
