Or you might want to try to build bareos-fd version 18.2 on a xubuntu 14 by 
yourself.
Any more recent version have great chance to fail.
Unfortunately for you that Ubuntu version is too old (openssl 1.0x) 
otherwise you would have give a try to the ULC (Universal client)
