ReaR integration:
https://docs.bareos.org/Appendix/DisasterRecoveryUsingBareos.html
For win for various reasons enterprises rely on their deployment process
(infra-as-code, linked clones, virtualization management, ...)
If you have a vhd (native or created with $tool) you can ofc use bareos fd.

Sounds like the custom extension is needed. I have been playing with
bareos for two weeks. It covers 95% of commoncases the rest 5%
requires custom development.

I have such plan : Bare Metal Restore (BMR) using bareos file
level backup
<http://www.voleg.info/bareos-bare-metal-restore.html> for Linux.
It is more complicated for Windows.
You can restore c: and other letters on disk connected other
windows machine.
However, there is a hidden system partition that is not a part of
backup but it is essential for boot windows server.
Thankfully it is the same as on any other same windows version
server and you can copy it.
Also you can backup disk as VMDK using vmware plugin (if you use
vmware of course).

I do see few questions on the subject image backup for Windows
or generic ones, but I Don't see if Image backup support is
available in Bareos.
I could't see a document or articles on the same. It would be
great if someone can shed lights on the same.
The question is simple "Does Bareos supports image backup for
windows or Linux ?"
