I have a single tape drive auto-changer. I would like to migrate older jobs to tape over time, I would also like to copy all jobs to tapes taken off site.
Because I have only one drive, doing a Copy job from one tape to another doesn’t work, and thus I can’t chain “Next Pool” together. Thus I would much rather while the job is still on the Disk volume, be able to run two copy jobs, to two tapes in each pool, with different retention (longterm, and off site rotation). Googling around I’m not seeing how to do that, without doing some nasty subject to schema change SQL based Copy jobs. Is there a better way to do this?
