I am trying to understand retention and such in Bareos, but so far am just finding a whole bunch of extremely complicated info that does not seem to apply. My setup is extremely simple, backing up to a 5tb external usb drive. I want to keep 1 full weekly backup and 6 incrementals of 1 job. I can get the job setup fine and run it, but so far have been unsucessful in defining retention policies that do what I am looking for. It just fills up the drive with volumes until it runs out of space and never recycles/prunes anything. Can anyone help me with a base setup for the backup strategy I am looking for? I.E. how should I setup my pool/job for 1 weekly and 6 incremental then delete and recycle for the next week.
