Email resumes to hariprasad.p[A-T]nuance[D-O-T]com Thanks, - Hari Job Summary Summary: India Research Data team at Nuance Communications, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated senior level research data engineer. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge and hands-on experience managing data and implementing data management tools and processes for large scale research data projects. Responsibilities: - Initiate and monitor data pipelines processes and fix any issues as needed (keep data flowing). - Monitor storage resources and manage data retention (deletion) processes to ensure compliance. - Monitor and improve metadata management tools and manage related packages for Spark, grafana, Influxdb and other similar tools. - Create dashboards and reports. - Improve existing databases, create new ones as needed, DB maintenance including backups. - Implement tools and APIs that increase the usability of the data. Qualifications Number of Years of Work Experience: 5 Required Skills: - Python scripting, Linux tools and shell scripting, and source control. - Database maintenance and improvement including efficiency. - Ability to work proactively, collaboratively, and independently, including with remote international staff. - Proactive clear documentation, both of code and regular status. Preferred Skills: - Cloud storage and/or computing (Azure, GCP), including best practices for managing data efficiently. - Data security best practices for computing and automation, secure data transfer protocol including key based authentication and decryption. - Spark, Hive or other big data search. - Developing and deploying operational status dashboards using web based tools such as Grafana or Pulse. - Web app programming experience a plus (especially python) Education: Minimum of BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. Plus either 5+ years work experience or significant hands-on course work utilizing techniques for managing big data and databases.
