I recollect that for using Jython for mobiles where j2me was previously suitable is not possible because jython does not work well with j2me kind of class/libraries. It is more for standard java (java SE) and I guess, similar arguments hold for android too and that is why a lot of projects are spawning trying to support jython on android.
