We are seeing a problem where sometimes any write from Bacula to an HP LTO-7 tape drive is stalled indefinitely. To be completely clear, the write operation does not fail with an error. Rather, it simply never completes. The tape drive was purchased new and has been in use less than 6 months. This typically occurs at the start of a backup job. When we first saw this problem it survived across reboots and power cycles. We replaced the SAS HBA and were able to run several backup jobs (aprox 600GB each), each to its own tape. Today, a backup hung, waiting for a different tape. That seemed to be resolved by canceling the active jobs, purging the inserted tape and changing the status to recycle, and running the backup jobs again. However, the backup job has hung; bconsole reports zero bytes written.Any suggestions on how I might get better insight than I have now? Thanks, Ken
Hello Ken, A job log would be helpful, along with your pool configuration(s) * ll joblog jobid=xxxx * list pools * list media Followed by the actual pool configs. Best regards, Bill -- Bill Arlofski [email protected]
