Hello,

we've recently switched some of our backups from using disk/filestorage to cloudstorage in our own ceph rgw/s3 and this has been working great so far, but today I ran into two cache related issues which are giving me a headache.

Firstly somehow the server running the sd which does the uploads to the rgw/s3 ran out of diskspace because of the cloudcache directory. Unfortunately I didn't notice it filling up because of a misconfiguration in our monitoring but as I had configured "Truncate Cache = AfterUpload" for all Cloud ressources I expected the cache to be self-regulating. Either I don't understand the "Truncate Cache" option correctly or it doesn't work properly in our setup.

Secondly, being a bit in panic I deleted everything in the cloudcache directory, thinking that is is just a cache but now I run into errors when restoring data from volumes that are supposed to be in the cache. Is there a way to reset the cache so everything is fetched from the cloudstorage? "cloud truncate" unfortunately does not work as it complains with "Volume XXX does not exist. ERR=No such file or directory"

We're running version 13.0.2 on Debian 11 and I'd be really grateful for some help as this is preventing all but manual restores for all the volumes that were cached in the cloudcache.

Regards,

Martin
