Subject: Re: [Bacula-users] Is volume retention set only at the creation of the
volume?

I’m asking because I’m working out the correct combination of days I can retain
volumes and # of volumes that can be created before recycling begins. But I
notice that after changing the bacula-dir.conf file all of my current volumes
still have their original Volume Retention set for 90 days when I list volumes
from bconsole.

Changing volume retention is done automatically in the following events: volume
creation or volume recycle. When you manually change a pool retention, volumes
already existing in the pool do not change retention. You have to manually
update volume parameters from the pool definition.

best regards
