Hi all, We are using Bacula 9.4.4.
At the moment the backup scheme is : weekly incremental and Virtual Full on the weekend. As I understand it, the Virtual Full backup first reads the latest Full backup and the incremental backup sets to consolidate them by writing into a new set of volumes. This process of Virtual Full backup is too lengthy in our case as we have lot of archive data in the previous full backup which hardly changes over time. New data is added every day of week. But the weekend's Virtual Full backup still has to read all the archive data and add week's daily incremental data. Is there a way in Bacula where the previous full data volumes are just "carried forward" to the Virtual Full backup, instead of reading them and consolidating them with the incremental volumes. If there is any other feature in Bacula for handling this type of archive, please let me know. Thanks, Yateen
