Hello everyone,

My setup is very simple : I have fastly growing hundreds of tera-octets of
datas that I wanted to backup.I have 2 LTO drives with autochanger.
Data never expires, I just want to backup everything once, so that I don't
lose any file.

Everything is rightly setup and I did a full backup (it took a few weeks to
complete), then an incremental and I plan to do an incremental every night.

Now I noticed that in case of restore, I will have to restore the full and
all the incrementals jobs, each one in a separate restore job. Moreover, if
I want to restore a specific file, I need to find what job the file was
in.In short, it's not very convenient for me to be potentially processing
hundreds of jobs or searching for my file into hundreds of jobs !

So I read about virtualFull jobs, which sounded good to me. I was hoping it
would simply merge the jobs, without requiring any subsequent data writing
(or more precisely only database updates).
But it looks more like Bacula will rewrite all my hundreds of teraoctets of
datas onto other volumes to "consolidate" the data ! This is not what I
want, since it will be too long, and hardly practicable with so much data
to process : I want simply that my incremental jobs "add" themselves to the
first full, so that each nightly incremental jobs "ends up" with something
like one single full job gathering all my files.

Is it possible ? How could I achieve this ?

Thank you for your help, and take care !

Sam
