Indeed.One pretty big PoC I worked on was discarded at the end due to this issues with S3 offsite backup on Bacula Community edition.
Bacula Enterprise was eager to help with paid version, of course, but the entire PoC was stopped in last second before that took place.
So I can't really compare it, but one client lost. -- Mario.
