We print our own using the excellent form generator at https://tapelabel.de/
If that website isn't in the Bacula FAQ, it SHOULD BE Caveats - and these have nothing to do with the form generator: 1: Proper LTO labels are ONLY available in US letter size (Avery 6571 or OL173) - anything else has to be hand cut (Strongly Not Recommended) That makes them expensive and hard to obtain in Europe, but you CAN get them. 2:You really should get the Avery labels as they are polyester with an opaque+reflective layer to prevent bleedthrough from anything behind the label 3: Bleedthrough from anything behind the labels is a BIG problem with most other labels and will upset the barcode reader 4: Stick to "IBM format" and "barcode on bottom" for best compatibility with "everything" Even with the added expense of importing the labels, they work out at about $2 per sheet of 32 labels, which compares favourably to quotes of 50c-$2 PER tape for customised labels. We went through many iterations of barcodes over the years. The second-best solution to the above is to use Brother P-touch tape labellers with 18mm tape, but they put the human-readable part below the barcode. Some library readers (ADIC/QUANTUM!) demand it above the barcode and _really_ don't like it the "wrong way up" - you can solve the issue by inverting the label on the tape but that makes it harder for humans to read in-situ On 05/03/2020 22:22, William Muriithi wrote: > Hello, > > We have 2 dozen tapes that we haven't been using because we don't have extra > bar code labels.
