Hi Uwe,
Thanks for your input. Something similar is what I would expect. I'm
going to try some of the previous suggestions during the weekend, and
see if there are some identifiable bottlenecks.
Best regards

I just checked our installation (direct-to-tape backup, lto5, LAN
gigabit connectivity), and I'm not seeing any significant performance
issues between windows and Linux clients.
The evidence is naturally anecdotal though as several backups are
running concurrently, but I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary
here.
Example for a rather large windows machine:
Full 5252701 3.31 TB 2019-02-22 17:00:00 2019-02-23
13:15:21 20:15:21 47.64 MB/s
Linux machine, different client, same bacula host (9.4.2):
Full 130206 2.13 TB 2019-02-25 21:17:34 2019-02-26 06:16:48
08:59:14 69.15 MB/s
The windows machine has many small files (file server), so this fact
alone is probably enough to explain the 25mb/sec difference in
throughput.
All the best,
Uwe
