Hello,
I'm currently running Bacula 7.0.5 on CentOS 7 system. Bacula is installed
from epel-bacula repo:
https://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/slaanesh/bacula7/epel-7/x86_64/
Database used is mariadb, mysql-compatible.
Now I'm planning to upgrade to 9.2.2 provided by Bacula Community, but still
stay with mysql/mariadb.
Since the old and new versions use significantly different packaging options
and file locations, I obviously need to un-install the old version, and then
make a "fresh" 9.2.2 install (skipping the database creation steps)
I couln't find information if the same catalog database format is used in
7.0.5 and 9.2.2, or if I'll need to upgrade the catalog?
Since this technically won't be an rpm-upgrade but a fresh install, the
catalog obviously needs to be updated manually (if necessary at all)
If a catalog upgrade is needed, will it be a simple run of some script, or
does it possibly need several more complicated steps (if there is a big
enough difference in catalog version numbers)?
Thanks,
Timo
